Once the Washington Nationals took control of Tuesday night's Game 6, it was apparent that AEW and WWE were in for some rough sledding on Wednesday night.

The seventh and final World Series game on FOX raked in 23 million viewers across its duration, after hovering between 10 and 15 million for its prior games. So for Wednesday wrestling, drops were certain.

According to

Showbuzz Daily

, AEW Dynamite on TNT accounted for a series low of 759,000 viewers, a 21 percent drop from the previous week (which was up against World Series Game 2).

WWE NXT on USA Network also did a record low of 580,000 viewers, down 14 percent from a week ago.

In the key demos, Dynamite far surpassed NXT, ranking 6th in the coveted 18-49 demographic with a 0.33 demo rating (down from fourth place last week).

NXT dropped to 32nd place in the 18-49 demo with a 0.18 rating (down from 21st place a week ago).

With baseball now over until spring, the only viable competition AEW and WWE will face on Wednesdays going forward are typical network fare, as well as NBA doubleheaders on ESPN.
