AEW: Dynamite was heavily promoted going into this week, serving not only as the go-home for AEW: Revolution on Sunday March 7, but also as a special episode dubbed ‘The Crossroads’.
The show opened with the long awaited Cody Rhodes & Red Velvet against Jade Cargill & Shaquille O’Neal match. Shaq got a surprising amount of offence in, nailing Cody with some huge chops and an even bigger powerbomb, before Cody splashed Shaq off the apron through two tables. The five men hugged in ring, as Arn Anderson came out to flash the Horsemen signal at Dillon.
Tony Schiavone introduced Paul Wight who promised a huge signing from a Hall of Fame worthy competitor at Revolution, before we got the Finals of The AEW Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament as Ryo Mizunami defeated Nyla Rose. Post-match AEW Women’s World Champion Hikaru Shida presented Mizunami with a trophy, before the two exchanged blows,
Tony Schiavone returned to the ring to interview Sting who said Brian Cage's huge powerbomb the other week awoke something in him, before Team Taz ran out for a fight. Darby Allin made the save.
We had the final Face of the Revolution Ladder Match qualifier as The Acclaimed’s Max Caster defeated Dark Order’s 10 after a sneak attack by Jack Evans on behalf of Matt Hardy. Miro cut a short promo backstage saying that everyone who has been waiting for him to stop playing games will finally get their wish at Revolution when he and Kip Sabian take on Orange Cassidy and Chuck Taylor.
